Grrrls Only Test Post!

Test Post for images in comments

Hi Folks!

UPDATE: IE appears to be working. Confirm?

OK, this is how it works (at least for now).

Let's say your image is at http://foo.com/bar.jpg

Where you want your image to show up in the comment, type this in the comments box:
img:"http://foo.com/bar.jpg"
More generally, what you type is
img:"url"
(So what is in bold is exactly what you type, and what is in italics is replaced by the url that your image resides at.)

In other words, type the url of the image you want to post, and then surround the url with quotes, and precede it with img:.

Now, let's say you have a big image - the kind that would have messed up the layout at certain other blogs. You used to have to add the width="385" attribute to the <img /> tag... remember?
So here, it's a bit simpler. What you type is
imgw:"url"
(Note the 'w').

Please test. I'm interested specifically if this works across the browsers we use.

I apologize for not having a fancy button for this yet; first I want to see if the scheme works. I'm kinda shocked what a hack this is, but it does seem to work in Firefox and Safari.

I also apologize that it took me a while, thanks for your patience.

UPDATE: as of now, "preview" will not display the image, but I think I can fix that.

I'm also interested to see how browsers will perform when there are many large images in a long thread. So go wild!

This thread is the "PG" rated thread; the "R" rated thread is immediately prior.

Test Post for images in comments - R rated

This is the "R" rated thread... 8)

UPDATE: if anyone wants any of these images, grab'em, because in a day or two I'm going to delete this post to prevent my photobucket account from exceeding its bandwidth allocation... ;)
